Summary
Leaving the village’s dusty roads behind and stepping into the scorching heat of Çukurova, the three friends are not yet aware of the grueling labor that awaits them in the valley of white gold. This striking drama, captured through Erden Kıral’s lens, lays bare the exploitative system in which the land swallows up its people.
Their saddlebags, once brimming with hope, slowly dwindle amid the endless hours and grueling labor in the cotton fields. Amid class inequality and destitution, the workers’ struggle for survival draws the viewer into a relentless tragedy.
