A massive shopping mall where the neon lights are beginning to fade, and a group of young people trapped behind the rolling shutters. This blend of horror and science fiction, directed by Jim Wynorski, evokes the anxiety about the future that prevailed in the late ’80s through thick plastic cases and flickering screens. The shiny, metal-bodied robots, installed to serve as Park Plaza’s new guardians, suddenly transform into deadly weapons due to a malfunction in the main computer.
