Summary
As the shadow of World War II falls over China, fear of an impending invasion grips the nation. A secret document is locked away in a six-story tower, and numerous factions vying to seize it are all bluffing at the same table. Directed by Choi Wu-hyeong and Lam Kwok-Cheung, the film invites viewers into claustrophobic corridors and a tension-filled climb.
Carrying the raw energy of the “Bruceploitation” genre on its back, the film blends traditional kung fu aesthetics with the paranoia of the era. Every step toward the summit signifies a new confrontation and a deadly threshold. As our hero climbs upward from the lower floors, the fight choreography directly serves the story’s dark atmosphere.
