Faces of Children

The biting cold of the Swiss Alps merges with the frozen anger within the inner world of a young boy. This drama, directed by Jacques Feyder, follows a boy who has lost his mother as his equilibrium is shaken by his father’s new marriage, all against the backdrop of the mountains. As the new stepmother and her daughter upend the old order of the household, the child navigates the boundaries of silent resistance. A sense of loss and jealousy turns into a suffocating gloom amidst the snow-capped peaks.
