Summary
The cold fluorescent light emanating from television screens blends with the gray tones of a decaying system. This sharp drama, directed by Sidney Lumet, whispers to the audience the rage of a man on the brink of losing his job on the streets of New York City. The outburst unfolding on screen is quickly manipulated for the sake of ratings. As the system creates its own monster, the gears turn with the greed for profit. Journalism has become a dirty business, and this dark satire ratchets up the tension without exposing the secret alliances behind the scenes.
