The Exterminating Angel

Leaving that magnificent hall, where the clinking of silver cutlery echoed, shouldn’t really have been that difficult. After a grand dinner hosted in a luxurious mansion, time seems to stand still within that room. In this absurd comedy-drama by Luis Buñuel, the bourgeoisie’s elegant masks slowly slip away. A mysterious, invisible wall behind the doors prevents the guests from stepping outside. As the days pass, rotten secrets come to light, the veil of politeness is torn away, and those elegant people are left to their own survival instincts. This dark room, dominated by surreal tones, becomes the clearest mirror of social decay.
