Summary
A dark secret echoing among the piano keys silently gnaws at the fragile peace within the house. Composer Enrid Damor is unaware of the dark shadows in his new wife’s past—until those shadows come knocking at the door, threatening her innocence with blackmail. In this drama from the early days of cinematic impressionism, Abel Gance weaves together musical notes and the darkest corners of the human soul. As the visual frames are crafted like canvases, jealousy and anger slowly transform into a symphony.
