Summary
Images long forgotten in the darkness of editing rooms take on a new reality in Arthur Lipsett’s hands. The 16-millimeter black-and-white footage shot on the streets of Montreal and New York weaves the cold rhythm of a mechanical world in this documentary. An abstract collage constructed from discarded fragments brings to the screen the modern human’s sense of being trapped between the cogs of the machine.
