Summary
In the quiet streets of London, an ordinary farewell scene unfolds under the watchful eye of a police officer standing on the corner. This early comedy experiment, directed by Walter R. Booth, transforms an ordinary conversation into absurd chaos in a matter of seconds. As the horse-drawn carriage rounds the corner, a man—who is about to be suddenly swallowed up by it—steps off the sidewalk onto the street in the flurry of the farewell. Following the accident, the sidewalk, echoing with the woman’s scream, comes to life amid the policeman’s relentless pursuit.
