Summary
The ordinary steps of a child walking with small strides on the sidewalk turn into giant leaps that leave towns, forests, and oceans behind in a matter of seconds. Gravity vanishes; the world transforms into a strange, dreamlike scene floating in the air. In Osamu Tezuka’s animated world, the act of jumping evolves from a joyful game into a tense journey. In this flow that stretches from the green of the forest to the destruction of battlefields, the shadow of the nuclear threat on the horizon creeps insidiously into every frame. This short animation, awaiting its audience at the KultAlt cinema table, offers an unsettling perspective that navigates the boundaries between reality and surrealism. It is one of those rare works that plunges the viewer into the midst of rapidly shifting landscapes and human conditions.
