The first light of dawn has not yet touched the typewriter keys. The silence is broken only by the sound of the fan turning slowly in the room. Fred Hibbard weaves every moment that enters the frame not with ordinary haste, but with a mechanical rhythm. Every frame that flows across the screen carries the anxiety of faces seeking to escape the city’s noise but finding themselves cornered. The streets are narrowing. Like the grounds left at the bottom of coffee cups, the characters’ lives are also trapped within the same routine. Without making grand statements, the director simply lays bare the weight of the moment and the tension created by petty concerns. This is a theater experience that takes its time, left to the natural flow of time itself.
