An ordinary man finds himself trapped inside a gloomy apartment where the laws of nature have been completely suspended. The walls, the objects, and the room itself move with a strange will that defies the bounds of logic. In this dark house, where Jan Švankmajer has made his home with the nameless unease of stop-motion animation, he draws the viewer into a Kafkaesque sense of entrapment and grotesque moments.
