Wicked Girl

Eight-year-old S.’s mind is filled with the sounds of nature and animals. This imagination—which stretches from the whiteness of the hospital room to the days spent in her grandfather’s village—is, in fact, a refuge for repressed shadows. This striking animation, directed by Ayçe Kartal, explores the innocent landscape of childhood and the dark stain cast upon it with a jarring intensity.
