Summary
In the gloomy streets of Vienna, amid the rubble, the footsteps of Holly Martins, a writer of cheap adventure novels, echo. Against the pale backdrop of postwar Austria, fueled by the black market, he tries to uncover the truth behind the suspicious death of his old friend, Harry Lime.
Directed by Carol Reed, this black-and-white thriller weaves a sinister web of conspiracy that stretches from the shadow of a giant Ferris wheel to the dark labyrinth of the sewers. Conducted in the shadow of British military patrols and forged passports, this investigation into a missing person draws the viewer into a tense chase at every turn.
