The clay figures slowly begin to swallow one another. Jan Švankmajer uses stop-motion to lay bare the blockages in human relationships with a disturbing sense of absurdity. As the dismembered bodies reassemble through mechanical repetition, dialogue gives way to absolute silence. Evoking the feeling of being inside a dark Central European fairy tale, this short animation wanders through the farthest corners of the mind with its grotesque aesthetic. Where words end, clay begins to speak.
