From the Drain

The claustrophobic feeling of a confined space is enveloped not by the coolness of the water, but by the weight of an unseen past. In this early short film, David Cronenberg transforms an ordinary bathtub into an absurd and eerie setting. Two men sit in the tub, far from the noise of the outside world, engaging in seemingly meaningless dialogue. While one experiences an inexplicable panic at the sight of the drain, the other remains completely indifferent to the situation. Amid the circulating water and casual conversation, reality slowly begins to warp.
