Summary
As a wooden wardrobe moves slowly through the silence of the countryside, Lewis Carroll’s verses linger in the air. Toys and old dolls left over from a childhood bedroom become part of a strange ritual that dissolves and reconstitutes itself. In this short animated film, Jan Švankmajer transforms the familiar into an unsettling strangeness.
As an old child’s onesie takes center stage in this silent journey, each object crumbles, leaving its own shadow behind. In this world that wanders through the layers of a poetic rhyme, a live cat appears on stage to turn this fragile order upside down.
