Mindscape

A landscape built brick by brick breathes gently in the sunlight streaming through the window. As the painter sits before the canvas, capturing an ordinary slice of nature with his brush, he becomes aware of another landscape hidden behind the layers of paint. In this short animated piece, Jacques Drouin uses pin-screen technology to turn the ordinary perception of movie theaters on its head. This fragile universe, formed by lines and shadows, invites the viewer on a silent walk into the painting. This stop-motion journey, where the boundaries between the visible and the felt are erased, moves slowly along the fine line between dream and reality.
