Q Rating/Q Score
An advertising research rating is a system that measures how easily a celebrity is recognized and how much they are liked. This system is no longer widely used.
Quarter
One-fourth of a year; three months. Used in financial contexts by production accounting and marketing departments.
Quarter Apple
A wedge that is one-quarter the height of a standard wedge.
Quarter Load
A term indicating that firearms and explosive devices are loaded with one-quarter of the normal amount of explosive. See HALF LOAD.
Quartz Light
A general term referring to a tungsten halogen lamp. A halogen gas (iodine, chlorine, bromine, fluorine, or astatine) filled into the bulb delays its darkening and maintains the correct color temperature.

Quick Release
Quick Release - A locking mechanism for quickly mounting and removing the camera from a tripod.
Quick Release Shoe
Quick Release Shoe - The quick-release mount attached to the camera is called a quick release shoe. If left on the camera while the camera is on a tripod, it may detach from the tripod, so it must always be checked.
Quiet on the Set
A command given by the assistant director before the camera starts rolling. This command is also given when there is enough noise to interfere with the director’s or actors’ work.
